Supported Tracking Services
- SPOT - the original satellite tracking and emergency service.
- Garmin Inreach - most popular satellite service with 2 way communication possible.
- Skylines.aero - Skylines is a mobile based provide a simple tracking app is available on Android. If you can't afford a satellite tracking device - an old Android phone does a decent job where there is mobile coverage.
- TrackMe NZ - NZ service provider for SPOT and Garmin Inreach with faster trackpoint update when a point becomes available.
Information Needed
Only devices with a recent trackpoint in Australia or New Zealand can be added via this interface. If you have no trackpoints - turn on the device until it acquires and a few waypoints are visible on your shared tracking page.When adding a device, each different services needs different details. Tracking is publically available to anyone, however data is only kept for a maximum of 7 days. No altitudes above 999m are provided. These are outlined below:
- SPOT users must create a public XML Feed ID: https://www.findmespot.com/en-us/support/spot-trace/get-help/general/spot-api-support and provide this as a key. You should also provide the URL of your public shared map page.
- Garmin Inreach users need only provide the URL of their public map page.
- Skylines users need to sign up to https://skylines.aero and provide the ID number from their personal page on Skylines (ie. https://skylines.aero/users/
). - TrackMe NZ users should provide their ESN or SPOT or their IMEI for Garmin Inreach.
